Which space tune do you prefer?
If I’m able to offend you so easily, to me that means you already recognize some truth in what I’ve written, but you aren’t ready to face it consciously yet. If you read something from me that provokes an emotional reaction, then a seed has already been planted. In other words, it’s already too late for you.

Rocket Man
Gotta go with Space Oddity. Trippy song....

You can't break the ties that bind...
Rocket Man is a much more solid tune with harmonies second to very few.
Don't you boys know any nice songs?
Rocket Man
The list of songs I'd pick over 'Rocket Man' is a short one, but 'Space Odity' is on it.
Rocket Man for me. Noticed the poll is now tied at 6.![]()
I voted for Space Oddity FTW! Poll now at 7 for Space Oddity.
Space Oddity was first before Elton recorded Rocket Man. Trippy Lyrics and a tune that feels like you are floating away...
I believe Elton / Taupin were inspired, to say the least, to write Rocket Man from Bowie's Space Oddity.
But of course, for pure laughter, what can top William Shatner's infamous "performance" of Rocket Man?
Space Oddity by an hair
Bowie sucks...Rocket Man
Space Oddity
I always liked Rocket Man. I have no idea what Bernie Taupin meant by, "Burning out his fuse up here alone."
She packed my bags last night pre-flight
Zero hour nine a.m.
And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then
I miss the earth so much I miss my wife
It's lonely out in space
On such a timeless flight
And I think it's gonna be a long long time
Till touch down brings me round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no no no I'm a rocket man
Rocket man burning out his fuse up here alone
Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact it's cold as hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you did
And all this science I don't understand
It's just my job five days a week
A rocket man, a rocket man
And I think it's gonna be a long long time...
