No problem. It doesn't matter, it's OK.I wish I could figure it out, Bob. Thanks to the filters in place now, simply logging in and remaining that way is an exercise in futility. And even if I do manage to log in, I get kicked off the site when clicking on a new page or after roughly 3 minutes, whichever comes first. It took me around 10 minutes to post that REM thread the other evening, and about twice that long to turn it into an article on the front page. More annoying, any web site using Flash-based graphics can not be seen. (The odd exception to this is the TCR arcade, where a handful of games are playable, yet you can not register a score, as you are logged off after completing the game.)
Now, one could argue that a person shouldn't be goofing off while at work, but this filtering also applies to sites used for reference in order to assist patrons, including financial and entertainment sites. I literally have to leave the reference table and go over to one of the public computers in order to look up information for people. If all of the computers are in use, then the patron I'm attempting to assist is either out of luck or has to come back later.
So it simply isn't a matter of choice for logging in and staying that way since the city decided to "improve" our computer system. It is a mind-boggling, hair-pulling inconvenience for everyone employed here to merely do their jobs in a comparable manner. The supervisor has received literally dozens of complaints about the issue, yet you know better than anyone how town politics tend to work. I pretty much expect things to be fixed around the time of the next ice age, or the day after the planet is struck by a giant meteor.
