              Default Asia

              ASIA

Asia are a British rock group formed in 1981. The band was labelled a supergroup as it included former members of several veteran progressive rock bands, namely bassist/vocalist John Wetton (formerly in Mogul Thrash, Family, King Crimson, Roxy Music, Uriah Heep, U.K. and Wishbone Ash), guitarist Steve Howe (formerly in Yes), keyboardist Geoff Downes (of Yes and The Buggles) and drummer Carl Palmer (formerly in The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Atomic Rooster and Emerson, Lake & Palmer).

The band has been through multiple line-up changes in its history, but the current line-up is a reunion of that original line-up. A second band, called Asia Featuring John Payne, exists in parallel as a continuation of a pre-2006 Asia line-up.

Short lived love affair for me with this band. Loved some of their tunes but didn't last. Just me no complaints, just telling it like it is.

I agree. The first record, a few cuts from the second. They're very paint-by-numbers, kinda bland, which is a shame. So much talent in that band. Of course, I'm referring to the traditional Asia, not John Payne's version.

I think the new song I posted is pretty good. Sounds like classic Asia. I was never a huge fan but there were a few songs I liked. The only CD I have is the first one.
